Week Sixteen

Another week done already?  Lots on the plate.  Lost some painting time yesterday since I got my hands on the new 6th edition rulebook.  I definitely will have to mix up how I play my Tyranids, some big changes in how certain rules work there.  In prepping for this edition I also got back to work on some marines.  I finished 5 Scouts this week, which completes my first unit of 10, adding 180 points to the Imperials.  I’ve primed two Storm Talon Gunships as well, and have three drop pods ready to start.  I’ve also painted about half of the Tervigon, so that will be joining the ranks soon.  I re-added up the totals for my lists, making some corrections as I went, so here are the new numbers:

Tyranid painted total:  15,766

Imperial painted total: 10,325

Of course, I already broke it and chipped the paint, so I am adding battle damage…

Tyranids LOST 40  points because the Malenthrope went down in the new Imperial Armor book.  Imperials gained 1450 with the Reaver added.

Week Thirteen

No points added this week.  Broke out the scout squad that already has 5 models done with the intent to finish it up next week or so.  Still staring at the Tervigon lying in primed pieces here.  More importantly, however, is that the Reaver is almost fully built in its sub-assemblies.  I had a setback with the legs, as the joint at the pelvis is quite weak, so I had a buddy build me a base for it.  The torso with head is a separate piece, as are each of the weapon systems.  They are all magnetized, and should hold together well on the table top, but be able to be disassembled for transporting and storing it.  The legs are completely painted, with the exception of the armor plates that surround the pelvis.  Should finish priming the rest of it tomorrow.
